Hockey Training Centres
Odisha

Known as the capital of Indian hockey, Odisha has produced some of the country’s best players. Under the vision of the State to revive Indian hockey to its past glory, concerted efforts have gone towards fostering grassroots development of the sport, ensuring that hockey reaches every corner of the state. Collage Design was retained to provide Architectural Consultancy for creating 21 Hockey Training Centres at different locations divided in 3 clusters – Sundargarh, Rourkela and Bonai.

Designed to enhance skills and to nurture a large spectrum of hockey talent from the state that can compete at National and International events, the Training Centres are well equipped to provide better infrastructure, training facilities, and opportunities. We designed a typical layout for the different locations, altering the orientations as per the site conditions. The hockey Fields have been built in compliance with FIH’s requirements. Emphasis is on early exposure to synthetic turfs to facilitate the players’ smooth transition to higher-level hockey. These high quality HTCs provide the required training equipment, conditioning and first aid facilities to expedite holistic development of junior and sub-junior athletes. Each HTC has been designed to include a Hockey Field, Gymnasium, Locker Room, Spectator Seating, and even a Residential unit. With such robust grassroots initiatives, world-class infrastructure and continuous efforts to nurture emerging talent, Indian hockey is poised for greater glory.
