Sports Infrastructure Masterplan, Gujarat

Within the diverse and dynamic landscape of Gujarat, sports stand as a cornerstone of cultural identity and community engagement. Fostering this deep-rooted sports culture, the Sports Authority of Gujarat has embarked on an ambitious plan to provide accessible sporting facilities at all levels across the State. Designed to cater to the multifaceted needs of athletes, enthusiasts, and communities alike, the Sports Infrastructure Masterplan unfolds as a visionary blueprint, poised to revolutionise the landscape of sports facilities through accessibility, inclusivity and excellence. From District-level Sports Complexes to Taluka Sports Centres and Specialised Training Facilities, each component of the Masterplan has been meticulously crafted to uphold International Standards and cater to the sporting aspirations of the State.

The Collage Design team worked closely with the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department along with various Local Officials and Consultants for an in-depth understanding of the sports ecosystem at the grassroot level. This helped establish a road map for cost effective and federation compliant facilities across the State. The Masterplan caters to various levels of play, from recreational to professional, by strategically developing Indoor and Outdoor Sports Complexes, Hostels, and Training Facilities. The standard design has been optimized for ease of construction and maintenance for individual sports. High Performance Centers for identified sports will be established in major Cities and the Districts and Talukas will function as feeders for promising athletes to be further trained for national and international competitions. The detailed architectural planning ensures that each facility meets the State’s commitment to promoting athleticism at all levels.
