A flagship event under the Khelo India initiative, the 3rd edition of the Khelo India University Games 2023 was hosted by Uttar Pradesh. KIUG is part of the Indian Government’s Khelo India initiative that focuses on promoting grassroots sports ecosystem for identifying young talent from across the country. The 10-day multi-sport event included almost 4000 Athletes from more than 200 Universities pan India. The games were held in 9 venues across 5 cities. All Athletes were in the under-27 category and vied for medals in 21 sports disciplines.

As Technical Consultants, Collage Design worked closely with the Dept of Sports, Uttar Pradesh and the Sports Authority of India, to ensure that all Event Overlays were in compliance with respective sport federation guidelines, and local safety protocols. Each sports optimum venue was identified and the Field of Play (FOP) layouts and Overlay Mappings were meticulously curated, forming vibrant spaces that met international standards. State-of-the-art facilities, including grandstands, training areas, locker rooms, power & energy infrastructure, utilities, fencing, flooring, sports lighting, security measures, media centres, LED screens, TSR integrations, Spectator movement for safety, VIP areas and numerous other amenities were incorporated into the venues. We helped transform permanent structures through the use of temporary overlays and immersive design elements.
