Dock Master Complex
Mumbai, Maharashtra

Located along the western coast, the Mumbai Naval Dockyard planned a new facility for the technical requirements of the new dry dock. It has been designed as a 4 storey building, along with basements and provisions for passenger and cargo lifts. The location of the new structure in close proximity to the sea front required special detailing of systems for waterproofing and safety. Factors such as silty soil and a very high groundwater table were key considerations for the design.

The Dock Master Complex Building houses workshops, administrative spaces, control rooms and technical rooms for the functioning of the new dock. The façade is developed to provide a relief and a welcoming front for this technical structure without compromising on its functionality and performance. Natural light and ventilation has been provided for all occupied spaces with well-connected corridors. The Control Centre has unobstructed views of the project site and surroundings with state-of-art systems for safety and security.
