In the vibrant landscape of Bengaluru, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has launched a pioneering initiative – the New National Cricket Academy (NNCA). Sprawled across 40 acres near the airport, this visionary project is more than a training ground; it aspires to be the nurturing soil for cricket dreams. Collage Design’s architectural vision for the NNCA resonates with Karnataka’s vernacular style, featuring a colonnade along corridors that seamlessly connect various functions within the complex. The building strategically incorporates limited use of glass, ensuring ball resistance on the lower floors, while the upper levels are recessed in harmony with the overall aesthetic.

This holistic Academy encompasses Indoor and Outdoor Cricket Training Pitches, a Practice Field and Locker Rooms. The site is intelligently divided, dedicating one-third to the public for community engagement and reserving two-thirds for academic pursuits. Poised to redefine cricketing excellence with cutting-edge facilities, the NNCA includes a 16,000-square-foot Gym, 2 Practice Grounds, 45 Practice Pitches, an Open-air Theater, and an Indoor Training Facility for the next generation of cricketers. The emphasis on simplicity and functionality is evident in the design – from naturally shaded seating areas to well-placed steps, ramps, pavements and planters. Every element is strategically positioned to enhance accessibility, especially for the elderly and physically challenged. The design philosophy goes beyond the ordinary, ensuring an inclusive and accessible environment for visitors and sportspersons alike.
